A Whemma-beacon is a small Bluetooth iBeacon, flashed on Whemma's own proximity UUID and ready to pair. One per object: the car, the trailer, the bakfiets, the boat. All prices include VAT.

The beacon

What you get

  • A Bluetooth Low Energy iBeacon, flashed on Whemma's proximity UUID and ready to pair.
  • Its own identity within that UUID — a batch number and a beacon number — so the app can tell your objects apart.
  • Paired by holding it against the phone. Whemma offers the one you're touching, never a list to guess from.
  • Nothing to charge or set up. Drop it in the object and close the boot.
  • A plain iBeacon advertisement carries no battery level, so Whemma doesn't claim to read one.

Technical

Proximity UUID

Every Whemma-beacon advertises on one shared proximity UUID, with a batch and beacon number inside it. Your phone only ever acts on the beacons you paired yourself; the rest are ignored.
